Through regular weekly meetings, we will monitor your progress across the full array of both short and long-term goals (both academic and social), seek out new opportunities, and strategize solutions to problems and obstacles as they arise.

Meet John H. Lee

Founder/Owner

John H. Lee is the owner and principal consultant/coach at Accept-Ed.

BIO

John immigrated to the United States from South Korea when he was in the 4th grade, which he repeated while learning English as a second language. Through perseverance and careful planning, John eventually graduated as a valedictorian of his high school class and won the National Merit Scholarship. He then gained acceptance to various IVY league and other top-10 colleges and universities across the US, often with prestigious full scholarship offers.

Since then, he earned a BA from Yale University and two further graduate degrees from Yale and Columbia University. He has taught both as a full-time and part-time lecturer at Quinnipiac University since 2006 in the Department of Philosophy and Political Science, where he continues to teach and mentor students. When he is not playing with his children or looking for ways to make his wife laugh, John also teaches Japanese swordsmanship to adults (YozanCT.com).

As a father himself, John understands that your children are your most precious blessings is a firm believer in the importance education as a foundation for successful outcomes across the entire lifespan. The cornerstone of his educational philosophy is building students’ confidence and courage through intentional teaching. With the confidence to try new things and the courage to overcome setbacks, our children can become the best version of themselves.

John's clients have been admitted to some of the most prestigious schools in the US, including but not limited to: Harvard, UPenn, Stanford, Cornell, Columbia, Yale, Duke, and Johns Hopkins (etc).

Services

Intro Consultation

During this initial meeting with the parent(s) and the student, we will carefully assess the "fit" between the student and the unique coaching and mentoring framework at Accept-Ed. This 30-minute meeting can be either in person or on-line.

Weekly Check-in

Once every week during the school year, each Accept-Ed student will meet with the lead consultant for 30-minutes to discuss their progress, to explore new opportunities, and to strategize solutions to any problems or obstacles.

Application Portfolio

A suite of services relevant to completing the application portfolio are also available. These services include, but are not limited to: personal statement/essay editing (including short answers), interview coaching, resume editing, etc.
